Summer's Child

I've been meaning to do this post for a couple of days now, but we've been super duper busy, going non-stop, as I'm sure all you girls have. Summer is CA-RAZZZZYYYY!!!

I am in the homestretch with this book, and I think it's AMAZING. This is my absolute favorite kind of writing. There is constantly something happening and the mystery just keeps getting thicker and thicker by the page. I don't want to say too much, because I'm not sure if the rest of you have gotten around to starting it yet, but if you have, pLEASE tell me in the comments, because I would LOVE to have a conversation about all that's going on in the story!! :)

  1. Okay, I finished it and Diane Chamberlain is officially one of my top 5 authors. She kept me guessing until the very end and I LOVE that.

  2. I have about 50 pages left in the book I am reading so hopefully I can start this one tomorrow.

  3. Ok, no luck at my library. I'll look for at Target this weekend and hopefully get caught up. In other news...I just finished "The Poisonwood Bible". I can't remember who suggested it or recently read it (was it you, Tempie?), but I really liked it. I learned a lot from it too and it definately made me think. Thanks for the suggestion!

  4. I just started reading this on Friday and I really like it so far. I think I am only 100-150 pages in (I'm reading it on my Kindle). I was sucked in from the very first Chapter.

Erica, I'm not the one who suggested the Poisonwood Bible but whoever did, did an excellent job recommending it because I also bought it but I just haven't read it yet.

  5. FINALLY, I downloaded this unto my kindle and started reading. I'm about 20% into it. I'll have to be honest, it's definitely not my type of book, but I'm giving it a shot because I want to read outside of my norm. And, the two of you spoke so highly of it so I'm sure it's got to be interesting :-) So far I'm liking it so-so. I'm interested to see where it goes so I'm going to keep reading away. Hope July is going well for you all. We leave for vacation in a week and I can hardly wait!!! So, I probably won't be in reading mode for Aug but I'll be back strong for Sept!

  6. I finished this last night. It was good but I like her other book better. Towards the end I got kind of tired with the whole "If they only knew what I knew" but once the answers started coming I was really into the book again. I was definitely shocked with some of the revalations that were revealed. I will read her again but I have a feeling her books are alot like Nicholas Sparks books where they seem to have a formula to their book style. (Don't get me wrong I have read most of Sparks' books and enjoy them but you always know pretty much how they are going to end.)

  7. Ok, now i'm INTO it (about 70% in) and I have to admit, I'm liking it very much :-) Some parts are predictable, but I'm still guessing as to where it could be going. If it ends like I think it's going to end, I may be a little disappointed...we shall see. But I'm enjoying it and can't wait to get back to reading! Leave me alone, kids!! :-)
