Erica just finished this one the other day and I finished it last night. This would have been an EXCELLENT group read. So thought provoking and so enlightening. I cried more than once during this novel and one of the times was when a slave was given free papers.
This book broke my heart, made me laugh, made me cry, filled me with hope, and it taught me a lot about slavery that I had never known before.
I definitely recommend this!
I'm going to reserve it at the library! I can't wait.
