Audrey Niffenegger is such a master storyteller, in my opinion.
This story was crafted brilliantly. She grabs you from the very first sentence and holds you captive the entire read. I can't wait for her next novel to be released.

Didn't you just love this book? And the ending??? I L.O.V.E. when things are totally unexpected. Or maybe it was just me and I totally missed that that could have been the outcome. I can't wait for her next book either!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved this book, I'm still struggling with the ending, though. That is not AT ALL what I expected to happen and I'm just a little disturbed that she let what Elspeth did stay that way. I don't want to say too much, because I don't want to spoil it. I know Tempie wants to read it. But I know you know what I'm talking about. I just think what she did was SO MESSED UP! Ha! But I still absolutely loved it. She's an amazing storyteller.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I started this book yesterday and I have gotten about 90 pages in (the twins just moved to England). I just have to say I am a little disturbed by what Robert did while he was cleaning out Elspeth's things out of the apartment. Really?!?!?! I would think he would be more a little more overcome with grief than sexual pleasure. I guess all I can say is he is a man, they are programmed differently. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! Tempie, that is so funny! That book is like that constantly! She reminds me a lot of Anne Rice, because she thinks nothing of being raunchy and throwing in plot twists that are totally out of left field. I loved this book, but I really didn't like the way it ended. What I expected to happen did not happen at all! But I still love the book. I can't wait to hear what you think of the rest of it!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I finished this tonight. All I have to say is Wow. I kind of figured Elspeth was going to do what she did. I really didn't like her. This book wasn't nearly as good as The Time Traveler's Wife but I still liked it. Okay I am starting The Murder's Daughters tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteTempie, I agree, Time Traveler's Wife was better. I am SUCH a naive reader, though, because I truly had NO idea that Elspeth was going to do what she did. I was so mortified that she did that. Then I was even MORE mortified that Valentina didn't get her body back! I was really disappointed in the ending.
