Paperback Swap... a HUGE success!

Girls!!

If you are not yet using paperbackswap.com, you MUST check it out.

So far, I've gotten rid of so many unwanted books. It's just unreal. I've mailed out somewhere around 45 books and on my wish list are books that are brand new either on the best seller list or something that I've been wanting for a long time.

So far, I have received all the books above and I have 11 more that should arrive sometime this week.

I am so thankful to Tempie for introducing me to this site! I'm so in love.

Everytime I go to the bookstore or Target, I always see SO MANY books that I would love to try out, but of course, I can't BUY them all.

Well, now I am GETTING them and they're MINE for next to nothing!

It's such a great, great resource!

What I love the most about this is that all the books I've gotten so far are in excellent shape.

Water For Elephants, which I'm reading right now came to me BRAND NEW. Not a scratch, not a fold, nothing! The book looked like it had never been opened before.

AND I'm getting rid of books that I never thought anyone would ever want. I'm getting rid of old textbooks from college, trade sized paperback books that I read in high school, teaching manuals... I truly can't believe the things that people on there really want. It really points out that one person's trash is another person's treasure!

And the site keeps track of everything for you, so far, I've saved $49.50, and that includes all that I have spent mailing my books out (which is so cheap, they go at the media mail rate).

Anyway, I am just so in love, I can't help but sharing my wonderful experience with you guys. :)

  3. Wow!!! So far I have mailed out 7 books but I have 3 more I need to mail out. Of that stack I have only read Water for Elephants. I do own the following I just need to read them: The Friday Night Knitting Club, Testimony, Something Blue (I think it's that one if not it is one of her other ones), & Good Grief.

The thing I really like about this website is, I know I have mentioned this before, my other book club picks books that I know I am probably not going to like so instead of going out to buy it I can get rid of a book I don't want and in return get the book I need. Right now I am #2 on the waiting list for Outlander and they have been sending out about 19 a week so I should have mine sent out by the end of the week. I am #7 on the wait list at the library so basically I would never get it in time.

Also, like Candace was saying some of the books that people have asked for I really didn't think anyone would want. Just like right now this book I am reading is just okay (I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone) but there is a waiting list for it so I know when I am done with it I can pass it on to someone else. I am so addicted to this website. :)

  5. Well, Tempie, we should try to read those that we both have together!

And I cannot wait to review Water For Elephants when I'm done with it. This book is so excellent in my opinion and according to reviews I've read, it has some very surprising twists that come about, so I can't wait to see how the story turns out! :)

  6. AHHHH... DON'T. READ. WICKED!!!

I read it this past summer and I was SOOOO upset by it. It's crude, It's yucky, It's hard to 'get into', and it just was not good at all. I have never seen the play, so I thought it would be a fun way to catch up on all the rave. Boy, I was disappointed. It made me NEVER want to watch the play.

  7. Really?!?! You know, the ONLY reason I ordered it was because when I worked at Barnes and Noble when I was in college.. like 10 years ago, it was pretty new, so it was still front and center in a lot of our displays and I always wondered about it and wanted to buy it, but never did. So, when I saw it on PBS, I immediately requested it, just to see what it's all about. That's really what I love about that site, because you can do that. You can request random things and then if you don't like it, you can just relist it! ;) It's great!
