Austenland

Austenland by Shannon Hale is a cute book. I finished this right before Christmas. It's about a woman who is obsessed with Colin Firth's character Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. Her aunt dies and leaves to her in her will a 3 week trip to a Regency-era resort catering to Jane Austine-obsessed women in hopes it will help her get over her obsession. This book is pretty short at 194 pages and a very quick read, I think it took me about 3 days to read it. Once I hit the last 50 pages I couldn't put the book down because I was so curious to see how the story was going to end. I definitely recommend this book to any Jane Austin fans or anyone looking for a quick light hearted book.

  1. I'm going to have to check that one out! I've never heard of it. But I do love Jane Austen, read all her books in high school.

  3. I wonder if the movie 'Lost in Austen' is based off of this book. I Watched that movie from Netflix about 3 times before sending it back.... sigh... I'm a huge fan of Austen. Nothing says 'McDreamy' like her men-folk :) I'll have to check out this book. :)
