Look Again

I love when I read a book and it is written so well that I just want to read everything that author has ever written.
I bought this novel on a layover in Atlanta when I was on my way to Dallas on June 25 of last year. You may remember that day... it was the day that both Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died.
It was also the day that I went to train with one of THE top photographers in this beautiful country. She is amazing and that trip was amazing. This book was also amazing. Every second that I wasn't working with her or sleeping, I was reading this.
So, you can imagine my level of grief when I was on the shuttle on the way to the DAllas airport to leave to return home, when I realized that in my haste to get ready that morning, that I had left this sweet story laying on the bedside table.
I was so upset. I had SO looked forward to reading it in the terminal as I waited for my flight and then, of course, reading it all the way home.
I was quite... pissed.
I did, however, call the hotel and they shipped it to me.
In the meantime, though, I started reading something else, and one thing led to another and I just picked it back up last night and I just finished it a few moments ago. The story was so impecable, though, that I hadn't forgetten a single bit of it. As soon as I started reading last night, I felt like no time had passed. I really don't know why I waited so long to pick it back up, I wish I hadn't because.... WOW... just amazing.
It is heavy on the heart for a mommy, though. It's about a woman who adopted a little boy and she was completely in love with him. I have to admit that I am a sceptic about adoption, only because it's hard for me to imagine being able to love a child that wasn't of my flesh in the same way that I love Emma and Noah. This book was so well written, though, I now feel as if I understand it. Anyway, she checks her mail one day and there's one of those little postcard flyers in it that's showcasing a little boy named Timothy Braverman who was abducted when he was just over a year old and he looks remarkably just like her little boy. And the time frame is right, this child on the missing poster could really be her son. This novel is about the journey she goes on to discover the truth about her son. And it is a journey that never quits. It's fast paced and just completely engrossing.
I highly recommend this book! 5 Stars FOR SURE! :)

  1. AHHHHHHH... that would on my 'worst nightmare' list of things to happen! I can't fathom what this poor mother went through!

Does it have a happy ending?
(that's one of my 'requirements' for heart stopping books.... lol)

  2. Yes, it has a very happy ending. It was excruciating getting there, though, I was crying right along with the mommy when things were tough. It makes you feel like your heart's being ripped out. Ugh!

But really an awesome story, nonetheless! ;)
